Helping the People of Bahrain
It is the duty of every Muslim to help the oppressed people of Bahrain and others as far as he can. What a special people from a special country! It is a country in which Sayyid Bahraini lived and revived the narrations. It is a country in which the writer of the book Al-Hada’iq (jurisprudential periodical) was a great name. These Bahraini people are heirs of these revolutions and sciences. These sincere people are standing against the plunderers who are ready to sell their country to the infidels of Europe and America.
The important issue that believers should inform each other of is this: the oppression that is now taking place in Bahrain. The Shias, the Muslims of Bahrain are all suffering from the insurgence of foreign countries over this shelter-less nation. This does not lead to any rest for Muslims, and the outcome of this tragedy is impossible to tell.
Now this is the astonishing issue. This issue should be taken into consideration. It is not a trivial issue. The groups who supposedly defend human rights – and all human rights bodies in civilized states – are in fact the societies of crimes and of being against human rights. For example, they have kept silent in relation to these issues; later they will justify it. How about dispatching the army to fight against the people of Bahrain? According to international laws of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), should a foreign country attack one of them, the member country can ask for help. This is right – but here, it is the people of Bahrain who have risen up, no foreign country has attacked Bahrain! Definitely, the GCC is in fact a cooperation council for only a few families. Each royal family of their country has a convention with each other. Should his nation’s people move against the royal family, then he will go for help to his fellows.
Is this respectful of human rights? Is this what some Western individuals claim? Just because they have official conventions, attacking Bahrain by these countries is supposedly lawful. Human rights are to defend the royal family of Bahrain! The rights of a Libyan man are being trodden over by the rights of a family who has plundered oil reservoirs for centuries, the wealth distributed among only the royal family members. Is this a demonstration of human rights? No, this is a demonstration of oppression.
A Muslim’s burden is important to other Muslims. In the words of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny): “Believers are like one body in their behavior and dealing with each other.” May all people’s souls be sacrificed for such a saying.
O you who have faith in Pakistan, India, Iran, Turkey, or wherever a believer may be. Verily, believers in their behavior and dealing with each other are one body – should one of them face a problem, others go for help; should a part of the body face a problem, other limbs go for help. If this is what we believe, then what of the untold murder of the youth who acted upon his pure intentions of standing up for justice? He was soiled by his own blood in Bahrain, whereas believers in the world are still resting?

We hope that you will recite Ziyarat Ashura and perform the Isteghasa Prayer of Lady Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her) for the sake of the people of Bahrain, and ask others to do so.
We end with the words from Du’a Iftitah: “O Allah, we complain to you of the departure of our Prophet, of the occultation of our Master, of the excess of our enemies, of the scarcity of our numbers, and of the vicissitudes of time against us.”
