The Promise
When the time had come, the night ready to retire. The sun ready to shine, Ali Akbar called for prayer, and froze all of the time. Angels cried out in heaven, as the mighty Kauthar roared.
When the time had come
The night ready to retire
The sun ready to shine
Ali Akbar called for prayer
And froze all of the time
Angels cried out in heaven
As the mighty Kauthar roared
The day had come to fulfill the promise
Hussain made to his lord
…
Like Katyusha rockets
Martyr processions
The call lives on
Like truth and justice
Freedom battles
The call lives on
In the heart of the Persian boy
Audacious gaze to the Shah
In the heart of the Iraqi girl
Her teary prayers to Allah
Like Zainab’s bravery
Fearless in the court
The call lives on
Like Sakina’s weeping
Voice in the dungeon
The call lives on
…
When the time will come
The night ready to retire
The sun ready to shine
Ali Akbar will be heard again
And will freeze all of time
Angels will march from heaven
Imaam will walk through the door
The world will hold its breath
As Mehdi appears to meet the score
The day will come to fulfill the promise
Hussain made to his lord
