Ramadan Kareem
Never look down because your eyes have always been stationed high. And your feet the lowest you could be so blow away the trails of dust and pave your hope between the dead vines you see.
Orphan
Keep going dear child
Open the windows of your dreams
And fly despite the cracks in your wings
Cover the wounds of yesterday
With the garments of today
And ignite the fire of tomorrow
Know that your smile
Still quenches your mother’s heart
Though angels are the only messengers
Know that your tears
Are worth more than any child
And still carves me
Like rivers carve out canyons
Dry them with your own
Because my hands seize to be
Though my heart plays its symphony
Never look down
Because your eyes have always been stationed high
And your feet the lowest you could be
So blow away the trails of dust
And pave your hope between the dead vines you see
Shield yourself from the world
Because the world was unkind to me
Leap past its lies and trickery
Know it’s not worth your soul
Nor worth the tears that trickle free
But don’t be afraid when your time comes to be
Because this earth is just a maze
You’ll find me when you find yourself
So have you? Yes?
Then you have finally found home.
