Prominent scholar, jurist, and teacher of the Islamic seminary in Qom, Ayatollah Ahmadi Faqih passed away on Sunday, August 29 as a result of a car accident in Qom, Iran. He was 60 years old.

Al-Hajj Mirza Muhammad Hasan Ahmadi Faqih Yazdi was born in 1370 AH (1950 CE) and began his religious education under his father, Ayatollah Ahmad Ahmadi Najafi Haeri Yazdi, before pursuing higher level religious studies with such acclaimed scholars as Ayatollah Gulpaygani, Ayatollah Araki, Ayatollah Bahauddini, and Allama Tabatabai. He taught upper level courses in the Islamic seminary for several decades and was considered a prolific jurist and thinker. Ayatollah Ahmadi Faqih was married to Lady Zohreh Sefati, who is a respected female jurist and teaches higher level jurisprudence courses to female students in the Islamic seminary.
According to a report by Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA), Ayatollah Ahmadi Faqih was involved in a fatal car accident on Sunday, August 29. His funeral prayers were led by Ayatollah Wahid Khorasani, and his body was laid to rest in the shrine of Lady Masooma Qom (peace be upon her) on Tuesday, August 31.
