Footpath Toward Allah

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

someone asks
where are you going
i say
on

i will climb mountains
cross rivers
and i will see the sun
rise and set many times

on and on
leaving behind the useless
so that i can keep light
picking up new things
so my journey is easier

i wake up at dawn
find an empty mosque and
finish my prayer
sit alone in a corner

and i realize

God is in the villages at the end of this road
the wind in my hair and the flowers in the hills
